BEGINNING BAND INFORMATION
Open to students entering 6th grade
Step 1. Attend the band demonstration with your class on MAY 6 (during school).
Step 2. Talk to your parents if you are interested in joining band. Together fill out and sign the permission form. These will be available in print after the band demonstration.
Step 3. Choose your instrument.
Sign up for a time to try the instruments on the sign up sheets provided outside of your regular classrooms. These will be posted after the band demonstration. Sign up times are during school.
Bring your permission form with you to try out instruments.
Step 4. Now that you know which instrument you will play:
Arrange rental/purchase/repair of an instrument as well as purchase of books and supplies at the BAND OPEN HOUSE on May 21 from 5:00pm - 7:00 pm. If you have a family owned instruments a technician will be there to be sure it is in good working order.

The school has a few instruments available to rent on a first come first served basis. Here is the School Horn Rental agreement for you to review and also Spanish rental form here. Contact Ms V at [email protected] for this option.
If you are unable to attend the open house, please contact Sarlettes Music directly at [email protected] or by calling 320-589-1622. They can help with instrument rental and books/supplies.
Step 5 (last one!). Register for beginners band camp through Revtrak (Community Ed). Registration opens on MAY 21 (day of the open house) and closes on July 31. Students will attend one hour per day for one week according to the schedule. The schedule is available on Revtrak. The camp dates are AUGUST 19-23. The fee for camp is 25.00.
